It has been quite some time since my last blog post… In short life happened. We are all familiar with the Pandemic of 2020, the job loss, the great resignation, the housing market boom which subsequently happened during that time, and the lull that is occurring now. In short between 2019 and 2022 a lot has happened!

However, regardless of what has happened, you get to decide which of that you want to bring forward to your now. Not negating what happened, but by telling the same story over and over again, you are essentially reliving that story over and over again. If it’s a great story, by all means, reminisce! Tell your own version of that short story as much as you would like! But if it is one of sorrow, anxiety, illness, sadness, grief… you get to decide how much of that story you want to bring into your present.

During the new year, we often hear about resolutions, and like it or hate it, we cannot deny the new beginning of a new year. We are literally starting again and are rewarded with a brand-new set of 365 gifts (days). How many of those gifts will we spend reliving the story that was not pleasant? Why not tell that experience from a different vantage point. One that speaks of resilience, hope, and momentum of what’s to come. One that speaks of excitement of what’s ahead, and the journey that you are going to take. One that speaks of changes you are making for the better, and love you will encounter and new memories made!

In other words, this year decide what your story will look like and choose to tell that story and only that story. And if you must reflect on the past, tell it from a different perspective because you ARE at a different perspective. You are looking BACK at the story; you are no longer IN the story. So, choose the perspective that best serves you today.
